AUTUMN:A SEASON TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES TOGETHER

Autumn is a magical time for family fun, even when we don’t experience the blazing leaf colors that are typical of the North or colder weather. It's the season of harvest, pumpkin spice, beautiful and colorful leaves, delicious flavors, and lots of fun activities. The cooler breeze and seasonal events make fall a great time for outdoor adventures, festivals, and cozy traditions.  Fall is one of my favorite seasons because it brings lots of opportunities to enjoy together as a family. From pumpkin farms to hayrides, there’s something for everyone.  Below, we gathered some ideas, both outdoors and indoors, to make your Fall 2025 unforgettable and full of beautiful memories. 

Farm Fun & Pumpkin Picking

• Sykes Family Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch – Weekends, Oct 4–Nov 2, 2025: 9-acre corn maze, hayrides, duck races, and a kid-friendly petting area.

• First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch – Starts Oct 10, 2025: pumpkins of all sizes for sale.

• Amazing Grace Family Farms – Oct to November 2025: fall farm fun with a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, corn maze, and games for all ages.

Fall Festivals & Community Events

• Ancient City Kids Day – Oct 25, 2025, Francis Field: FREE crafts, games, and entertainment. VPS and Jr. VPS will have a booth, and we will be making a sand necklace craft.

• Palm Coast Fall Arts Festival – Nov 8, 2025, Central Park Town Center: local artists, food trucks, and kids’ crafts.

• Fall Market at The Mill – Oct 26, 2025: artisan vendors, pumpkin decorating, and a petting zoo.

Outdoor Adventures

• Nature Trails & Preserves – The GTM Research Reserve, Anastasia State Park, and Fort Matanzas offer hiking, biking, and wildlife spotting opportunities.

• Bike Rides – Family-friendly trails around Vilano Beach and local parks.

• Campfire & S’mores – Backyard fire pits or state park campfire rings for stories and treats.

At-Home Fun

• Craft Days – Make fall wreaths, decorate pumpkins, or create leaf garlands.

• Baking Together – Baking together as a family is a fun activity. You can make pumpkin bread, pies, or cookies with local farm-fresh ingredients.

• Pumpkin Carving Parties – Turn pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns with family or friends.

• Leaf Pile Fun- Finally, don’t forget the simple joys: even in Florida, we have fallen leaves!  Pile up oak leaves from your yard or a park and let the kids jump in.  (Yes, Florida oaks drop plenty!)  You could rake together as a family; it’s good exercise and fun when the reward is diving into a crunchy pile.  Collect leaves to press later or use as crafts.  Even without a big change of color, the golden-brown leaves add a perfect fall feel.  Spread a picnic blanket on the grass with some warm cider and enjoy the fall air with your family.
