Include God In Your Decision Making

Moving to another place, changing jobs, buying a house, getting married, and having a child are all destiny decisions since they affect our environment and lives. Therefore, they require planning and in-depth analysis. It is not merely thinking about doing them; each requires direction and wisdom. We cannot take any decision lightly, nor because of necessity or emotions. It is essential to sit down and evaluate all the variables involved. Why? When we make destiny-affecting decisions, we must be aware that our actions will disrupt all areas of our life and our stability.

For those like us who follow Christ is crucial to let God guide us and walk in His will. It is up to us to ask for direction and be receptive to His voice. It does not mean praying with our minds already set up and our decision already made because that is not trusting Him. When we ask God for direction, we must be neutral, prepared for any answer, and receptive to His Yes or No. We must be open to accepting His will for our lives and obeying Him in everything, no matter how crazy it may seem. We also must be clear that there is no place on this Earth where God and His blessings cannot reach you. You can never get so far away from God that He cannot find you.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Another task is to trust; trust that wherever you go, if you are in obedience, God will bless you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. It does not matter if you go accompanied or alone; God will be with you wherever you go. Deuteronomy says, as long as you listen to his voice and keep his commandments (in obedience) He will bless you in the city and the countryside. Obedience to God will always bring a blessing with it. And God loves us so much that he promises He will be with us always. You can never get so far away from God that He cannot find you. Another thing that we must be clear about is that God will fulfill everything He promised us. He will fulfill His promises wherever you are. God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Numbers 23:19.

As we see in all these verses, God would not let you go. He will always be by your side; He will go before you, keep you safe and work in your favor. And Jehovah goes before you; he will be with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you; do not be afraid or intimidated. Deuteronomy 31:8. There is no reason to fear because God always goes before us as a mighty giant. The Angel of Jehovah will go with you wherever you go. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and defends them. Psalm 34:7. If we have confidence in God's will for our lives, we should not be afraid because He is our help and never comes late. “Do not be afraid because I am with you; do not be discouraged because I am your God. I will give you strength, and I will help you; For I hold you by your right hand; I, the Lord your God. And I tell you: do not be afraid; I am here to help you.” Isaiah 41: 10,13. We must trust that no matter where His will takes us, He will be there, guiding every step we take.

We should be mindful that when we ask God for guidance, we must act according to His will. We must move in faith. It is not to sit and wait because faith without work is dead. Sometimes we make the mistake of asking for directions and sitting in our comfort zone without acting because we are afraid to take the next step. If you are asking God for guidance, you must be prepared to obey Him.

Today I invite you to place all your decisions in the hands of God with the confidence that He will direct your steps and He will go with you wherever you go.
