LET GO AND LET GOD!

"Anything you cannot control teaches you how to let go." Wow! Powerful quote. Letting go and giving up control is not easy, especially when the world has conditioned us to be self-sufficient and control everything. We are so used to controlling every aspect of our lives that we have become overwhelmed, worried, and anxious. The turmoil we put ourselves in when we try to control everything adds a lot of pressure to our lives. Trying to control every aspect is a recipe for disaster because when we become overwhelmed, we lose focus, and fear and anxiety overpower us. Have you found yourself trying to control everything and lost track of what is really important?

I think we all can say we have been there, right? It is so hard to surrender control. Sometimes we know we cannot do anything about a situation we are encountering, yet it is still hard to let go. It is so difficult to let go that sometimes we prefer to become prisoners of those things we cannot change, leading to frustration and even anger. When we become obsessed with having control all the time, we put ourselves in a conundrum because we cannot control everything. There always be things that are out of our control. We need to focus on the things that matter. We should start letting go of the things we cannot change and surrender them before God.

In 1 Peter 5:7, the Apostle Peter tells us, " Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." With these words, the Apostle Peter is giving powerful words of encouragement to those who feel overwhelmed and anxious. He tells us to cast all our problems, difficulties, and worries before God. He reminds us that instead of giving in to fear and anxiety, we must give control to God. We must surrender our will and let God works His will for our lives. His will is always better than ours because it always aligns with His plans.

We need to " let go and let God." Letting go implies trust. When we let our cares before God, we show Him that we trust Him and believe His will is best. But letting go does not mean we are going to sit and do nothing; surrendering our cares means that we put before God everything that we cannot control, and we continue to move in faith and confidence that He will work in our favor and will help us in those areas or circumstances that we cannot change. It is trusting that He will open the door for us and make things possible because nothing is impossible for Him. We must trust His will because He only wants what is best for us. “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. He knows best, so we should align with His agenda. Instead of stubbornly imposing our plans, we need to be willing to accept His plans.

If you feel overwhelmed, anxious, worried, and frustrated, I invite you to immerse in God's presence today and surrender all your cares before Him. He wants to help you, but you must let Him do the work. Remember, "Let it Go, and let God!" Let God work wonders in your life; by yielding the steering wheel to Him.

Pray with me: Dear God, we come before you because we recognize that by our strength alone, we cannot overcome this trial (tell Him the things that are troubling you.) I cast all my cares before you because I know nothing is impossible for you, and your will is always better than mine. Please, help me understand and accept your plans, let me trust in your will, and give me the peace I need to continue walking in faith. I surrender the steering wheel to you. Help me let go of all the things I cannot change and are out of my control. I need your peace that surpasses all understanding so I do not become a prisoner of my fears and anxiety. Let me fix my eyes on you and not the problem, and help me to let go and let you take control of every area of my life that needs your mighty power. Thanks for loving me so much that you are always willing to help. In Jesus' name, Amen!
